Ear2Ear Privacy Policy

Effective October 8, 2026

Ear2Ear lets you talk with friends through your headphones, phone to phone. It has no servers, no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We, the developer, do not collect, receive, store or sell any information about you.

What stays on your iPhone or iPad

Keys and your list of friends are kept in your device's Keychain and are never synced to iCloud.

What goes to other people

Your name and profile photo are sent only to friends you have paired with face to face, and to people on a call with you. Your voice goes only to the people on the call, while the call lasts. All of this travels directly between devices, end-to-end encrypted, and never passes through any server. Calls are never recorded.

So that your friends can find you, your device broadcasts short codes over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi that change every 15 minutes. Only friends you have paired with can recognise them; to anyone else they look random.

Permissions

Removing your data

Removing a friend in the app deletes their key and photo from your device, and your device stops recognising them. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your device. What you already shared with a friend, such as your name and photo, stays on their device until they remove you or delete the app.

Apple

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and usage statistics that do not identify you. Apple's handling of that data, of TestFlight feedback and of App Store purchases is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Children

Ear2Ear collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
